Wenchang Technology, addressing the national needs for lightweight and domestically produced rail transit, has, through years of research, creatively solved major key technological difficulties in the preparation of large and complex components of silicon carbide particle-reinforced aluminum matrix composites, such as the difficulty in achieving uniform dispersion of silicon carbide and the difficulty in direct molding. They have developed key equipment and a complete set of industrialization technologies for the direct forming of large and complex components of aluminum matrix composites, successfully applied in subway brake discs. A domestic first, an annual production line of 5,000 aluminum matrix composite brake discs has been built. The project has completely independent intellectual property rights, with 8 invention patents authorized and 1 product standard formulated.
The successful implementation of the project has solved the problem of domestic production of key components for rail transit equipment, filling a domestic gap and significantly improving China's preparation level for large aluminum matrix composite components. It has broad application prospects and significant economic and social benefits.
